WHO WE ARE
We are FLOCK, a co-choreography German/American dance company founded in 2017 by Florian Lochner and Alice Klock. As FLOCK we perform our own work and create new choreography with international collaborators for film and stage. We are known for our non-gendered partnering and unique approach to physicality and storytelling.
Our most recent FLOCK productions include our touring shows “Familiar” and “Somewhere Between” which was named one of Chicago Tribune’s top 10 dance shows of 2023. We are excited to dive into a new creation for tour this year!
We have created work for multiple dance companies, universities, and cultural institutions, including Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, Whim W’Him, Neues Globe Schwäbisch Hall, GroundWorks DanceTheater, Backhausdance, Orsolina 28, Ballet Idaho, Seattle Dance Collective, the Goethe Institut, the Alonzo King LINES Ballet BFA, and the 92nd Street Y.
In all of our work we strive to bring artists and audiences together in environments that are open, dynamic, and based on joy.

UPCOMING PROJECTS
This year we are continuing to tour our show “Somewhere Between” and will be focusing on two new creations. A new touring show which we will bring to Seattle in September and a new film to premiere in 2025!
For both of these creations we will be exploring “the hero’s journey”, ideas of questing after an ideal, and the bravery/foolishness inherent in these journeys.
Our new touring show will feature the same brilliant cast as “Somewhere Between”. We are so excited to begin creation with them in the next months and to premiere this new evening in Germany before touring it to Italy. Seattle is our one and only US tour stop for this piece this year so don’t miss it!
Our new film will be our biggest FLOCK film yet and we are already in preproduction phases working with our filmmaker Malcolm Wesley and composer Michael Wall. The film will play with the grail quest as a parallel to the passions and ever seeking quality of being an artist.

DANCER FEES
Our brilliant team of dancers are internationally acclaimed and established artists and as such a huge portion of our budget goes towards compensating them for their valuable time. Your support will help us to support them!
TRAVEL EXPENSES
As all of our artists are freelancers each creation and tour involves bringing the team together. With a couple longer creation periods scheduled this year we are looking to raise funds to cover flights/housing for these important focused periods.
VIDEO PRODUCTION
We are very passionate about sharing dance in accessible ways and one of the best ways to do this is through film. We’re excited to be diving into our biggest film production yet! Your support will enable us to bring our team together, optimize our crew and equipment, and support our director Malcolm Wesley in our dream to make an heroic dance epic!
COSTUMES AND MUSIC RIGHTS
It is our goal to commission a new score for our film and to work with a designer for bold new costumes for both stage and film. We are also looking to raise funds to cover the music rights for our touring show. These ingredients are as essential as the dance itself!
All of our work is centered around sharing our work in new and vibrant ways, collaborating with amazing people, and continuing to expand our dream of creating healthy and inspiring communities and platforms for dance artists. We would be honored by your support!
